Weekly Update

Worship Service This Sunday

Come join us in person or online this Sunday for our 11:00 AM service! We’d love to see you there, either on YouTube, Facebook, or in our sanctuary!

Plus, join us in the evening at the Rosses for a bonfire! The bonfire will be at 6:00 PM. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, apple cider, and some great time together.

Looking for Baked Goods or Snacks!

About 50 college students in the Pittsburgh area are gathering for a Christian Fall Retreat at the end of the month. Kristin Tasker is looking for some help gathering some baked goods or snacks for them.

Per Kristin, college students love any snacks! Could be cookies, brownies, muffins, dips, or salty snacks like homemade chex mix! Store-bought is also fine and will be devoured.

Kristin will need the snacks by Thursday, October 21. If interested, you can reach out directly to her at 724-554-1564 or at kristin.rackley@cru.org.

Our Awana Programs are Returning

Beginning in two weeks on October 28th, we’ll gather from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM!

The Awana program is all about making lifelong followers of Jesus with games, friends, and Scripture. There will be two groups: one for ages Pre-K to 2nd, and a second for ages 3rd-5th!

We’d love anyone who wants to be a part to be there! Get in contact with us at info@thechurchattherock.org or contact Patti Mazar at 724-255-5270.

And remember, our junior highers gather every Sunday evening at 6:30 along with some senior high helpers! You can check out and get connected with the group, Jesus Seekers, on Facebook HERE!

Christmas Decorations Needed

Christmas holidays and events are right around the corner! Each year we host various community and church events, and we always turn the Rock into a beautiful Christmas landscape.

Unfortunately, the recent flood destroyed nearly all of our Christmas decorations. Therefore, we’re looking for some specific Christmas decorations that others are no longer using!

We’re looking for:
5 Christmas trees, preferably one which is smaller and one which is a pencil tree.
– Any quality garland
– An outdoor Nativity set

If you or anyone you know is looking to make room in the basement and put any of the above to good use, we’d love to have it! You can bring it on a Sunday, or contact Devin at dbtasker@gmail.com to arrange for pickup.

Operation Christmas Child

Last year our church participated in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that seeks to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. As a church, we were able to bless 10 children with 10 shoeboxes filled with gifts. This year we hope to double that number!

We are recruiting individuals who feel led to join in this global gift-giving effort to children. You can learn more by watching this brief video, and by reading more about the history and mission HERE. If interested, see Connie Yoder at church Sunday for more information on how to get involved with our church’s participation.

Days for Girls Ministry Opportunity

Days for Girls is a global ministry that exists to help girls around the globe reach their full potential by aiding them in proper menstrual health management. The titular “days” in the organization name refers to the days of school that are no longer lost due to inadequate management. Numerous churches in the Pittsburgh area have come together to be part of the mission of Days for Girls. If you want to be a part, please reach out to either Connie Yoder or Bunny Donaldson. You can find a PDF of the items that the local Days for Girls team is hoping to collect by clicking HERE. You can drop off any of the requested items at the church.
