Awana Children’s Program Returns

Our Awana program has returned! Awana is a children’s ministry where K – 5th graders hear about the love of Jesus, read together some stories from the bible, and play lots of games in the gym. Awana is split into two groups: a K-2nd grade group, and a 3rd-6th grade group.

The first Awana meeting is next Wednesday, January 11th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30PM at the church. It will run through March. If you’d like to sign up your child or would like to hear more, contact Pastor Devin or talk with Patti Mazar!

Our Time of Confession

I Corinthian 14 shows us a small picture of how the church met.  This chapter shows us that the church is not an organization, but is the body of Christ with all of the members having some active participation.  It shows us that each member has something to contribute that all may be instructed, all may be encouraged, and all may be blessed.  Starting in February, we hope to have many more of you participate in our meetings.  We are looking for people that would like to lead the times of confession.  If you are a believer in Christ and love his word, you are qualified.

We are putting together some resources to help you do this such as a set of verses for you to consider basing your sharing on and a YouTube video on some logistics and what is expected.

If you want to be put on the schedule, please signup online or see Carol Hunsinger.

Opportunities to Help!

The church needs you! Just like any human body, it needs its many parts. Below are some places where we’d love some more hands, hearts, and minds for the sake of serving and building up one another.

  • Leading Confession on a Sunday morning: this is a one-time commitment to lead through a 5-minute portion of our Sunday morning service. Responsibilities include prayerfully preparing a short invitation built around Bible verses and speaking briefly from the stage. You’ll be working with Pastor Devin.
  • Helping clean up after service on a Sunday: this is a once-a-month commitment to help clean up the sanctuary, kitchen, and cafe after service on a Sunday. The time needed will be around 20 minutes. You’ll be working with Sue Bayly.
  • Joining a landscape and gardening team that’s revamping our church grounds: this will be a once-a-month commitment to work with a team to brainstorm and create a plan for revitalizing and caring for the grounds of the church. We hope to have all-church work days in April and May to get the bulk of the work done. You’ll be working with Wendy Hughes.

To sign-up for any of these, you can go to the Ministry Registration tab on our website, or click HERE. For more info, send an  email to mailto:dbtasker@gmail.com
